Found Duncan and Paul to be totally professional from the very first point of contact. I needed a studio that could be used for music practice (I play the bagpipes) so sound reduction was of the essence whilst the shape of the garden meant the build wasn’t a straightforward one (the studio is a 5 sided building). They were totally unfazed by any of this. The finish both inside and out is of the highest standard, the slate finish looks stunning. Can’t praise or recommend the company highly enough.
Rockwood (Paul and Duncan Kirk) just completed a pair of garden offices for us. We are delighted with the whole experience and thrilled with the internal and external finish of the building. We had a good look round the market before deciding to go with Rockwood and in our view they have simply the best product currently out there at a really good (and quoted very transparently) price. They turned up when they said they would and did what they promised to do, punctually, cheerfully, flexibly and competently. After previous experiences with builders it was like a breath of fresh air. I recommend them without hesitation.
I first met the Kirk brothers when they were finishing Rockwood Studio number 1 in Sutton. The Rock Cladding and excellent finish won me over instantly and I knew that I had to have one! Not only did I find Duncan and Paul warm and welcoming, but very professional too. I knew instantly that I wanted to use them, however I did not make my mind up until 18 months later, by which time they were already on studio 41! You need to get in quick with these guys, because they are always fully booked up and that’s because of the high standard of their studios and their outstanding work ethic and very friendly approach. My studio was finished in no time at all and is our additional room, which we would have been lost without during lockdown when I had to use it as my classroom to teach my students remotely. The fantastic installation meant that I was never cold in the winter months and cool in the summer. We have been the envy of many friends and neighbours. The studio is not just a place to work, but to party in and relax in too. My only regret is not asking Paul and Duncan to make it a bit larger, so that I could have a small room to use as a workshop. If you are in any doubt, you need not worry. It’s taken me almost four years to write this review, so my studio has been tried and tested in all seasons by my family and we love it! There is plenty of room for a large sofa, armchair and desk with room to spare. It’s a shame that Paul and Duncan aren’t still builders as I’d employ them in a heartbeat to do work on my house. Most of all, they are exceptionally trustworthy and clean workers. Don’t delay, get your studio built today!! Ps. I am not getting any royalties for my review, my standards are high and I genuinely rate these guys and if I move house, I’ll be calling them to build another studio for me. I’ve been working in our new Garden Studio for a week now and I can only say that I am beyond pleased. After doing lots of research on Garden Offices we went with Rockwood, mainly because of the unique rock clad build (I seriously have no time or inclination to preserve wood!) but also based the recommendation of friends. I knew the end result would be good but it really is 1000 times better than I was expecting. Duncan and Paul work extremely hard (whatever the weather!), are meticulous in their approach, tidy, respectful and extremely talented and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble and from first enquiry to handing over the keys they kept in constant touch and answered all of my questions. Rock Cladding aside each studio is truly bespoke and the guys can adapt the design to suit your needs. For them my request for internal storage and indecision re heating was no trouble at all. The good thing about such a bespoke build is that you can make decisions about the detail (such a cladding colour, flooring, positioning of lights, sockets etc) literally as they are building. I loved the fact that I could physically see and touch the different cladding options before making a final decision. As all the work happens outside, disruption to your daily life is minimal/non existent. At worst a couple of hours without wi fi whilst the electricity supply is connected! Super pleased with the end result and can’t recommend Duncan, Paul and the Rockwood team enough. Even if the world returns to normal and ‘Work From Home’ dies out, the studio is so versatile we will always have a use for it!
I waited a year after my office installation to write this so I could experience all seasons. I am delighted with my Rockwood garden office. The insulation is very good and I had no problems all through winter. I went for underfloor heating, which works well but takes time to adjust if you want to suddenly change or reduce the temperature. My only issue was in the very hot few days we had in the summer. Up to 28-29 degrees outside was completely fine but beyond that was getting uncomfortable and aircon would have been nice to have. My office is north facing and shaded by trees to the south. Everything else is great. I love the look of the rock cladding and the quality all around is excellent. The guys on site during the install were very friendly and tidy. I would 100% recommend Rockwood to anyone that needs a full-time garden office. Given the COVID restrictions, getting this installed last year couldn't have been better for me.

Had our garden room over a year now. It’s used as a gym and it’s beautiful! Looks good, is toasty warm with very little heating in the winter and well sound proofed so my music doesn’t ‘leak’ outside. Very well put together, sturdy and totally great value for money!
We have been very pleased with the service from Rockwood, from arranging the original visit to completing our room. We were involved and kept up to date throughout the process. They were able to source the roof colour we wanted and the final room is everything we hoped.

Excellent product and process from start to finish. Really believe in and care about their product and doing a fantastic job. Great guys to have around your house for a couple of weeks which really helps. Was genuinely faultless. The finish with the rock cladding looks fantastic and very different from the traditional wood product. Anyone who has seen it loves it!
My Rockwood Studio has seen sun, rain, frost and snow now so it’s time to report on her (decided it’s female) performance. Firstly, some facts. She is 6mtr x 3mtr, has a storage cupboard, lavatory and kitchen sink unit for cleaning out brushes and pallets. Heating is a greenhouse pipe heater in the lavatory and free standing Dimplex in the studio area. My priority when choosing a studio was sufficient insulation for all year round use and soundproofing (I just love loud music). Rockwood had the thickest insulation. Another factor was the added hassle and possible after sales conflict with other manufacturers requiring me to find separate plumbers and electricians plus in some cases ground works for foundations. With Rockwood Duncan and Paul do the whole lot to a high standard and therefore take total responsibility. They refreshingly think of how they can achieve your individual requirements rather than stick to rigid standard designs. They turn up on time and see the job to completion without disappearing to do other work. I thoroughly enjoy my studio. It is a quiet oasis that blends with the garden and needs the absolute minimum of heating. I was advised that I didn’t need the heating pipe in the toilet – I should have listened to them! I am so glad that I went with Rockwood Garden Studios and would not hesitate in recommending them.
Genuinely outstanding from start to finish. Duncan and Paul really nice people and work to the highest professional standards. Kept us constantly updated with the work via video, always left the garden tidy at the end of each day, and work ethic and product was superb. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rockwood Garden Studios. The building quality itself was excellent using high grade materials. we had bathroom installed which works perfectly, along with electricity and heating. My family all slept in the studio the day it was completed, when outside temperature was below freezing. Building remained very warm inside and perfectly insulated. We have double glazed windows also, spot lights and lovely wood effect flooring. everything was completed start to finish in 3 weeks, which was Duncan's estimate. There are a lot of builders we know in our area that give this occupation a bad name. Duncan and Paul couldn't be more different. thank you both very much. Please keep in touch, Richard and Tracy

Absolutely delighted with what the guys have built. We had a good feeling about going with Rockwood from the start but what they've produced has exceeded our expectations and we now can't wait to enjoy it.
